cool enough for Steve Olson Art Show
p.o.p. gets its own close up
Alright ... we're clearly still getting used to timing of this blogging thing because we think this likely should have gone up last weekend when the event happened.  But then we wouldn't have had some pics to share with you, so here we go:

It was very cool to hear from Eileen and Carla at Spin Shoppe PR going into last weekend, when they asked us about p.o.p. being a part of skateboarder-turned-artist Steve Olson's Coming Out Party Art Show last Saturday night.  They thought the fit was just right for p.o.p., and we agreed.  Olson, like his art, is bold, creative, and revelrous, words we're not afraid to associate with p.o.p., which is spirited in its own right.  Besides, we loved the connection between Steve's early skateboarding days and p.o.p., since our name is a nod to Pacific Ocean Park (POP), an amusement park pier that once stood between Santa Monica and Venice Piers (more about its history here). Skateboarders used to love surfing beneath the pier after the park closed, so chances are great that Olson knows POP and spend some time surfing there.

One thing we're proud of:  p.o.p. got it's own close-up at the event's picture gallery (fourth row) along with Scott Caan, Tony Alva, and Sprague Grayden.  It's listed as "Atmosphere" for the event right next to pics of Olson's art, and is the only food item that made it on the page.  Kinda cool, we think.
